RE:                   Clarification:  First Week of School—Parent-Teacher Conferences and

                          District-wide Professional Development

As you know, the calendar for the 2008-09 school year has been approved and distributed.  It indicates that during the first week of school (September 2-5), due to the Republican Convention, there will be no school for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students. Due to this fact, we will continue the past practice of conducting conferences for these students on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 2 and 3, 2008. 

In addition, on Thursday and Friday, September 4 and 5, 2008, the district has the opportunity to use these two days for professional development for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten teachers.  Please be sure you convey this to your staff, and let them know more information will follow.
