RE: “The Discipline Process” Workshop
Ö Are you familiar with progressive discipline and do you know when to use it?
Ö Do you follow the “Seven Tests of Just Cause” when analyzing whether or not to discipline an employee?
Ö Do you know how to effectively and legally gather information about an allegation?
Ö Do you know when a union business representative should attend a meeting with you and an employee?
If your response to any of the above questions was “no” or if you are not sure about these issues and terms, the Human Resource Department will be presenting a workshop that will give you the information and confidence you need to handle discipline issues.
Through an interactive process utilizing case studies, you will gain solid understanding of how to approach difficult issues such as:
· A staff member may have inappropriately grabbed a student; or
· A teacher everyone knows cannot teach (but nothing has been done about it).
Attendees will receive a hands-on manual that walks you step-by-step through the discipline process, defines common terms, and provides sample letters and forms utilized in the investigative and discipline process.
Perhaps most importantly, learn about the “process” of discipline that will help demystify what you as a supervisor need to do when difficult issues arise.
