RE: Free MRC Workshop Series on Power, Race, and White Privilege
The Office of Educational Equity and the Center for Professional Development are offering a free workshop at the Multicultural Resource Center on Power, Race and White Privilege for SPPS teachers and administrators.
The workshops will take place over four evenings between February and May of 2008 and in-service credits are available. The workshop series is being facilitated by Dr. Heather Hackman, who has extensive experience in the areas of social justice and multicultural education, with a specific focus on power and privilege dynamics in education. Teams of two to four teachers and/or administrators from SPPS sites are encouraged to register together to provide building level support for each other through-out the class and beyond, so they can continue the dialogue at their own sites with co-workers.
For further information or to register, please see the attached PDF file or direct questions to Jennifer Eisele, MRC Coordinator at Jennifer.eisele@spps.org or by phoning (651) 487-7312
