Action Requested: Minnesota Principals’ Academy-Twin Cities Cohort Program Evaluation 10/30/2009 2:10 PM TO: Principals and Teachers FR: Nancy Stachel, Chief of Schools Jim Eaton, Principal on Special Assignment RE: Program Evaluation Information: As part of the Minnesota Principals’ Academy-Twin Cities Cohort partnership with RKMC, the district is required to conduct a thorough evaluation of MPA-TC to determine the extent that the professional development outcomes are consistent with program goals. Part of that evaluation includes the administration of the Vanderbilt Assessment of Educational Leadership (VAL-ED) survey to teachers, principals, and principals’ supervisors. Survey results will only be used to measure the effectiveness of the MPA program. Individual results will not be shared. Surveys: The VAL-ED will be administered to 40 schools across the district. This includes 20 schools whose principals are participants in MPA-TC and 20 schools who will serve as a control group. The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The timetable for survey administration is Contact Emails: Principals, teachers and supervisors will receive an email from Jim Eaton on Tuesday, November 3, that provides specific information about how to access the survey. Participants will also receive special access codes that will enable them to complete the surveys. Action: If you receive an email from Jim Eaton, please complete the survey. Principals at both the MPA-TC participant schools and the control group: Please encourage your staff to complete the surveys, as this is an important requirement for the funding agency. Supervisors: Please complete the surveys for your specific principals and encourage school staffs to also complete surveys. A high response rate is critical to gathering data that will allow the district to determine the overall effectiveness of this program. |
