RE: New Teacher Project Recruitment
The District is thrilled to announce that the recruitment season for the Saint Paul Teaching Fellows program is beginning this coming Wednesday, December 12, 2007. The Saint Paul Teaching Fellows program is an innovative new teacher recruitment and training program of Saint Paul Public Schools.
As of this coming Wednesday, December 12th, candidates may visit www.saintpaulteachingfellows.org to learn more and to apply to join this highly-selective network of new teachers.
Saint Paul Teaching Fellows will:
- Benefit from a streamlined application process;
- Participate in an intensive training in summer 2008;
- Forge connections within this group of dedicated new teachers;
- Become full-time teachers in some of Saint Paul Public Schools’ highest-need schools in fall 2008; and
- Earn their teaching licenses while teaching full-time, receiving a regular salary and benefits.
The priority application deadline is January 22, 2008. We encourage candidates to apply early, as we invite outstanding candidates to interview – and to join the program – on a rolling basis.
For this 2008-2009 cohort, applicants must be interested and/or eligible to teach math, science, special education and bilingual education—areas where student performance is essential and teachers are needed most. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, but do not need to have taken any courses in education or have prior teaching experience. We cannot accept applications from current district or fully-licensed teachers or those who have completed an education program.
Please feel free to contact Norah Barrett, the Site Manager for Saint Paul Teaching Fellows at info@saintpaulteachingfellows.org or 651-767-8198 with any questions.
