RE: Online Special Education Referrals
Principals, please remind teachers that all initial and re-evaluations started after March 17th should have an online referral. Before the end of the school year, all case managers and teachers must make sure that all of their evaluations and re-evaluations started after March 17th have a completed online referral. Accurate data from this system is needed for state and district reports that are due this summer. This work must be done before teachers leave for the summer.
If teachers did not do an online referral for a student, they need to go back and create that record. If a teacher started a referral and that student's name still appears on the drop down menu for a referral that was started, or for a referral where a teacher was put on a team, then that online referral is not complete. To complete the referral, re-enter the online referral and 1) enter the final outcome of the child study team determination and of the evaluation/ IEP, and 2) check the "Complete" box at the bottom of the final tab.
